Worship Experience – March 01, 2026 | The Sin I’m In: Part 1
Title: The Sin I’m In: Part 1 - An Interruption to My Evolution
Synopsis: Something that is difficult to talk about but is necessary to discuss is sin. It is prevalent in our life and it is what entangles our daily living. The Bible says we all sin and fall short of the glory of God. This is true. So how do we live through it? The Lenten season is all about Jesus living in the midst of the temptation of sin so that we can live through the committing of sin. But if we don't talk about this major interruption in our lives, we can't master how to live in it. So let's talk about the sin I'm in.
Scripture: 1 John 3:4–6 (MSG)
All who indulge in a sinful life are dangerously lawless, for sin is a major disruption of God’s order. Surely you know that Christ showed up in order to get rid of sin. There is no sin in him, and sin is not part of his program. No one who lives deeply in Christ makes a practice of sin. None of those who do practice sin have taken a good look at Christ. They’ve got him all backward.
Message Points:
1️⃣ Sin - A major disruption; an interruption. It's missing the mark!
2️⃣ Sin is a result of...What we know and what we don't know.
3️⃣ Raggedy - To aim at not doing wrong and do wrong anyway; or aim at doing right and still end up doing wrong.
4️⃣ Sin is out to interrupt what influences you.
5️⃣ Sin is out to interrupt what motivates you.
6️⃣ Sin is out to disrupt where you have hope.
7️⃣ Confront the interruption to your evolution.
Closing Charge:
Sin may interrupt your evolution, but it does not have the authority to define it. What disrupts you can refine you when placed in the hands of God. This week, confront what interrupts your growth. Lean into grace. Refuse to let shame silence your transformation. Evolution requires honesty, but grace makes it possible. Walk into this week committed to growth, not perfection.
