What is Mindful Ministry?
We are Ambassadors for Christ who are intentionally mindful of caregivers, those with dementia and those with sensory needs.
Why do we need Mindful Ministry?
Mindful Ministry recognizes that dementia disproportionately
affects African American families. It is our desire to serve persons with dementia, sensory sensitivities, and their caregivers in our community.
What is dementia?
Dementia is a decline in cognitive function that affects memory, thinking, and social abilities that significantly interferes with daily life. It is a symptom associated with the progressive loss of neurons (neurodegenerative diseases).

Alzheimer’s is the most common disease associated with
dementia. Symptoms may include memory loss, difficulty in
reasoning, changes in personality, and emotional control issues.
How does Mindful Ministry support caregivers and loved ones?
We are mindful to BLESS the people we serve: Breathe Life while Empathetically Supporting and Serving

Mindful Moments
