Title: Restored: Hmmmmm...Humility! | Not Celebrated but Absolutely Necessary – Week 2

Scripture:

Ruth 1:16–17 (CEB)

“Wherever you go, I will go, and wherever you stay, I will stay. Your people will be my people, and your God will be my God.”

Summary:

In Week 2 of Hmmmmm...Humility!, Pastor Paul continued exploring the story of Ruth and Naomi and challenged us to see ourselves within Ruth’s journey. Through Ruth’s loyalty, vulnerability, and willingness to follow God into uncertain spaces, we were reminded that humility often requires sacrifice, trust, and obedience.

Ruth was a foreigner, a widow, and someone who likely felt overlooked and unwelcome, yet she still chose faithfulness over fear. Her story reminded us that following God may lead us into uncomfortable spaces, but we cannot allow judgment, rejection, pride, or fear to pull us away from God’s presence.

The lesson also challenged us to think about how we invite others into relationship with God. Many people are searching for hope, healing, and community, and sometimes all it takes is someone willing to extend an invitation and make them feel seen and welcomed.

We were reminded that humility is not about status, recognition, or having everything together. Humility is remaining faithful, dependent on God, and willing to trust Him even in difficult seasons.
