Title: Jehovah Jireh My Provider – Week 9

Scripture:

Matthew 6:24–34 (NIV)

Key Verse:

Matthew 6:33 (NIV)

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

Summary:

Continuing our Jehovah Jireh: My Provider series, Pastor Paul explored Jesus’ teaching in Matthew 6:24–34, part of the Sermon on the Mount, to remind us that God already knows what we need and remains faithful to provide. Jesus challenges us to examine where we place our trust, reminding us that we cannot serve both God and money. Through the message Don’t Worry!, Pastor Paul encouraged us to stop allowing material concerns, uncertainty, and life’s circumstances to become greater than our confidence in God. Just as God cares for the birds of the air and clothes the flowers of the field, we can trust that our Heavenly Father sees us, values us, and knows our needs.

Through four teaching points—Change Your Worry, Wade Through the Worry, Don’t Wear Your Worry, and Wait and No Worry—Pastor Paul challenged us to shift our attention from how God will provide to WHO our Provider is. Trusting God doesn’t mean we won’t experience difficult seasons, but it does mean we can continue living, praying, worshiping, and moving forward without allowing worry to define us. Even when progress feels slow, God is present in the waiting. Rather than trying to control every outcome, we are invited to seek God’s kingdom first, surrender our concerns, and trust that the same God who provided before is still providing today.

Key Takeaways:

1. Change Your Worry. Examine who or what receives your trust, attention, and energy. When we recognize God as our Master and Provider, we can redirect our concerns toward Him instead of allowing material things or circumstances to control us.

2. Wade Through the Worry. Keep living, praying, worshiping, and moving forward, even when life is difficult. Trusting God doesn’t mean standing still; it means continuing through life’s challenges with confidence in the One who sustains us.

3. Don’t Wear Your Worry. Our circumstances don’t have to determine how we carry ourselves or experience life. Just as God cares for the flowers of the field, we can trust His care and refuse to allow worry to overshadow our faith.

4. Wait and No Worry. Waiting on God requires trust and patience. Even when progress seems slow, God is present in the process, and every faithful step forward matters.

5. Focus on WHO, Not HOW. We often become consumed with figuring out how God will work things out. Pastor Paul reminded us that our responsibility is to trust the One who provides, even when we cannot see the outcome.

6. Remember Who You Are and Whose You Are. Jesus reminds us that we are valuable to God. The same God who has provided throughout Scripture and throughout our lives remains our Provider today.
