Title: Jehovah Jireh My Provider – Week 3

Scripture:

Exodus 16

Key Verse:

Exodus 16:4

“Then the LORD said to Moses, ‘I will rain down bread from heaven for you. The people are to go out each day and gather enough for that day.’”

Summary:

Continuing Jehovah Jireh: My Provider, Pastor Paul moved from Abraham’s experience in Genesis 22 to the Israelites in Exodus 16. Although God had already delivered them from Egypt, their difficult circumstances caused them to complain and question whether following God had been the right decision. Their struggle reminds us how quickly we can forget what God has already done when we become overwhelmed by what we are facing right now.

Yet even in the middle of their complaining, God heard them and chose to provide. Through bread in the morning and quail in the evening, God reminded Israel that He was still with them and could be trusted for what they needed each day. We are challenged to remember the places where God has provided before, follow His instructions, listen for His voice, and trust that the same God who made a way before is still our Provider today.

Key Takeaways:

1. Don’t let your current circumstances make you forget what God has already done.

2. God’s response is to provide, even when we are struggling, questioning, or complaining.

3. God gives us what we need for each day, teaching us to depend on Him daily.

4. Remembering where God provided before can strengthen our faith to trust Him again.

5. God hears our cries. A delay does not mean that God has forgotten His promises.

6. God’s response is to provide, God’s response is to hear us, and God’s response is to make a way.
