In Week 1 of Jehovah Jireh: My Provider, Pastor Paul began in Genesis 22 with the story of Abraham and Isaac, challenging us to move from simply believing that God can provide to trusting that God will provide. Jehovah Jireh is not only a description of what God is capable of doing. It is a declaration of who God is: The Lord Will Provide.

Abraham’s faith was also demonstrated through his actions. He got up, prepared, and moved in the direction God instructed him to go, even though he did not know the outcome. He worshiped while facing uncertainty and declared that he and Isaac would return. As Pastor Paul reminded us, “The next move we make determines what we really believe about God.”

Ultimately, knowing Jehovah Jireh must become personal. God is not simply someone else’s Provider. He is my Provider. When we remember how God has provided before, we can trust Him with what is in front of us now and confidently believe that the God who provided before will provide again.
